GeeXboX - a full-featured operating system running under Linux and based on incomparable MPlayer. You do not need a hard drive, you simply need to insert a bootable CD with the GeeXboX CD-ROM drive into any computer pentium-class and boot from it. Moreover, GeeXboX - a free software created by many programs with open source software. This means that anyone can edit it and create your own version of GeeXboX. You may wonder, why do you need to load a different operating system to play media files, and not look towards platforms like the Mini-ITX barebone-systems VIA Epia / Eden or Shuttle. Today there is an opportunity to add to your home theater yet and format DivX, connecting your computer of this type directly into your TV. During the first development version (December 2002) could only play video format DivX, today GeeXboX can play almost any type of media files.
